After you make a pit stop for drinks, the Ascent allows you to ensure that all beverages are secure before leaving. Let us tell you a bit about the Subaru ascent cupholders and their location throughout this SUV.

Shoppers will find the new Subaru Ascent here in Amarillo, TX, at Brown Subaru. Our dealership is a short drive outside of Canyon, less than 15 minutes away.

Where Are the Cupholders on the Subaru Ascent?

The new Ascent is a three-row SUV with 19 cup and bottle holders spread out among each row. Let us tell you where each of these cup holders can are on this new SUV.

  • Two forward cupholders between the front two seats, next to the shift knob- Both can hold larger-sized beverages found at your local service station near Clovis, NM
  • Four front cupholders- two on each side- located in baskets on front doors beneath the door lock/window controls
  • Four second-row door cupholders- located in bins underneath the door controls. Four of these holders (two on each side) can hold various cups/bottles, while a third compartment can be used for smaller items and juice boxes.
  • Two cupholders at the top of the rear door- can hold moderately-sized beverages and bottles. Larger cups and canteens might not fit or may fit at an awkward angle
  • Two cupholders in second-row on the center armrest (with second-row bench seating only)- as long as you do not have an additional passenger in the middle second-row seat, you can lower the armrest, providing two additional places for smaller cans, moderately-sized coffee cups, and bottles
  • Two flip-down cupholders on the back of center console (available only with second-row captain's chairs/seven-passenger Ascent)
  • Two cupholders in the third row, on the driver's side- these two have a shorter distance between them than the others, meaning that one larger-sized drink can potentially take up all the space
  • Three cupholders in third-row, passenger's side- one smaller drink can fit comfortably between two large ones in this cupholder configuration

How Many Cupholders Does the Subaru Ascent Really Have?

Technically, there are 22 cup and bottle holders in the Subaru Ascent, though some Hereford, TX customers will not find all of them on every trim level, so the total almost always stays at 19. Base Subaru Ascent SUVs with eight-passenger seating have two cupholders in the second-row center armrest but lack the additional flip-down cupholders on the back of the center console in the front row. Meanwhile, seven-passenger Ascent models with second-row bench seating lose the second-row armrest but make up for it with the flip-down cupholders. Shoppers can also opt to add the flip-down cupholders onto an eight-passenger Ascent for additional drink storage.
